War of Blockades Replaces Ceasefire as Hormuz Crisis Deepens
Though the ceasefire deal that was reached between the US, Israel, and Iran has been renewed through a post by Donald Trump, it has been substituted by a "war of blockades," which involves the seizing of commercial ships by either party. It creates a very unstable environment. The mood in Islamabad is quite somber due to the lack of progress of the scheduled peace talks, where the respective delegations failed to reach.
It seems that there is some confusion as to who leads Iran, especially since Trump's declaration of a "fractured regime" points to the destruction of Iran's traditional power system after all the fighting it has been doing. Though Trump hopes to solve the issue related to Iran prior to visiting King Charles and embarking on his journey to China, Iran continues to be quite reluctant to talk.
